Metallic Angel

Last piece for my GenCon portfolio. This is a reinterpretation of Copperleaf Angel from MTG.

Emerald Prison

While looking through this blog, I noticed that I apparently never posted this piece on here. This was a bookcover for Matt Heppe that I did a little while ago, and I thought turned out nicely.

Shadowborn

Portfolio piece for GenCon. I wanted to try using a more subdued color palette in comparison to my other pieces, as well as a more graphic composition style with the black cloaked assassin standing out from the whiter background.

Inspiration

It's been awhile since I had the time to make a dedicated portfolio illustration. I'm looking to redo most if not all of my portfolio this year for Gen Con, and this is the first piece I've completed so far.

The Sword of Elseerian

Here's a cover I've had finished for a little while now, just forgot to put it up on here. Another wrap around bookcover.

Mercy

Someone contacted me on Deviant Art earlier this year and asked for a private commission, and this was the result.

Demons' Gate

Here's the final bookcover illustration for Matt Heppe's book series.

Ayja

Here is the front cover to a book coming out sometime in June, written by Matt Heppe.

One With Nature (revised)

Here's a piece I was hoping to get done for Illuxcon this year, but I ran out of time. I fixed up a piece I had done last year, and I think it looks much better now.

Sunlit Angel

Another piece for my portfolio, and the last before leaving for Illuxcon. I imagined this piece being a Magic card.

Dark Forest

The most recent addition to my portfolio. I'll have one or two new pieces to put up before I leave for Illuxcon next week.

Doomblade

It's been some time since I've updated this blog, but not because I haven't been working. Finished up a new piece for my portfolio.

Elf Queen revisited

One last picture before heading off to Illuxcon!

Sun God

Here is another illustration for the portfolio.

Oracle of Thassa

First ever Magic card!

This piece is actually a little different from the illustration on the card. I came back to it last month and decided to tweak it some- I changed her hair and sharpened the rendering up in some places. Hopefully there will be many more illustrations for MtG to come!

Drow Phantom

Here's a character I recently designed for Rite Publishing's Pathways E-Zine. The client asked for a mix between a noble drow and the Sorrowful Man, and I think the result turned out to be pretty interesting.

False Goddess

Here is the latest piece for ye olde portfolio!

Nymph Final

Here is the final piece. I originally meant to finish this for the Art Order nymph challenge, but freelance work and other obligations got in the way, so I finished it later.

Art Order challenge: Lyssa

It's been a little while, but I have been really busy. I started a new illustration in January, only to have an interesting Art Order challenge appear towards the end of the month, so I stopped working on that and created a new illustration for the challenge instead- this here is the result. We were given a short description about a female mage wearing white robes with gold trim, and told to go from there. I decided to go for more of a middle eastern/indian looking lady reading her books, cause mages are just big book worms after all. The jali in the background was a pain to draw, but I think it turned out pretty nice.

Not sure if I'm going to start up the previous illustration again, I think I'll just start working on sketches for the next one instead.

Finished

Here is the final version. I got a lot of good feedback from ConceptArt.Org on this one. I changed the mask to silver because people were having a hard time telling it wasn't his skin due to the overall orange and yellow color scheme. Hope you like it.
